Now, about the opportunity: In the Senior Manager, Media Strategy position, you will help to shape and execute the online marketing strategies, develop and optimize highly-effective paid campaigns in Google Ads interface, with the goal to increase customer base and engagement levels. This is a role where you will partner with Product Marketing Managers and innovation leaders from one of our major clients.

 

The ideal candidate is a go-getter who jumps on new opportunities, gets nerdy about what they do, and works fast and flexibly to get the job done.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead for all media strategy on Global campaigns and evergreen strategies to drive marketing goals that can include, but are not limited to: awareness, consideration, viewership and tune-in for the Brand and its products.
  • Create high impact, breakthrough and innovative media programs through digital media tactics to drive interest, and excitement for the brand and its products.
  • Use user insights and past learnings to guide media strategy and partners to develop data-driven impact analysis to assess investment impact and value to the business.
  • Work with agencies and internal teams to ensure execution of media plans are followed. Provide thought leadership on media best practices and innovation.
  • You’ll be expected to bring a strategic vision for the media while still being able to execute and overcome the tactical challenges to get things done. 
  • You will demonstrate media expertise and navigate complex issues and challenges with a strong POV. 
  • You will work closely with Product Marketing Managers (PMMs) to create advanced and holistic media plans to drive great brand/product awareness, content discoverability, viewership and ultimately conversion, resulting in a delightful user experience. 
  • Working with cross functional teams will be critical to ensure that the media strategy is brought to life across all marketing levels.
  • Analyze, review and present Quarterly Business Reviews to stakeholders and recommend areas of growth for the account.

 

Background & Skills 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of digital media experience.
  • 3 year minimum experience managing Google Ads campaigns
  • Experience forecasting, planning and developing strategies for digital media
  • Experience using multiple forms of media to acquire, engage, and develop users and viewership while developing creative innovations in storytelling through media platforms, integrations, partnerships, etc..
  • Ability to explain complex media concepts to stakeholders through data and performance analysis of media campaigns.
  • Solid presentation skills, comfortable speaking about and presenting data to clients
  • Proactive, disciplined, organized, self-starter and highly motivated, comfortable managing uncertainty and working independently
  • Excellent time management and organization skills

 

Preferred qualifications:

* Having as many of these specific qualifications is a plus, but transferable skills/experiences may be equally valuable

  • Experience working on an internet/platform brand, tech or SaaS is a plus.
  • Experience working to reach opinion formers and decision makers.
  • Background in media that drive brand objectives and results.
  • Ability to use data to drive actionable insights.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid presentation skills, comfortable speaking about and presenting data to clients
  • Proactive, disciplined, organized, self-starter and highly motivated, comfortable managing uncertainty and working independently
  • Manages competing interests of senior stakeholders independently, keeping all relevant parties in the loop on potential issues.
  • Experience with project management to successfully keep projects on track

What We Offer

Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.

Salary Range$85,000—$100,000 CAD
