Monks is seeking a proactive and eager-to-learn IT Office Support Trainee to join our Buenos Aires office. This entry-level role is essential for keeping our workspace running smoothly, supporting our BA Monks with day-to-day technical needs, and ensuring a functional and well-organized environment from an IT perspective. As part of the Global IT team, you’ll gain hands-on experience in in-office support, asset management, and world-class customer service.

Key Responsibilities

In-Office Technical Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for basic technical issues in the office.
  • Assist with troubleshooting hardware and software (Mac/Windows) under the guidance of senior team members.

Hardware & Software Management

  • Help with installing, supporting, and performing routine checks on office hardware (computers, printers) and software.
  • Assist in diagnosing, repairing, or coordinating maintenance for IT equipment.

Office IT Operations

  • Support meeting room equipment setup and ensure proper functioning of AV and collaboration tools.
  • Assist during presentations and events.
  • Maintain general workspace order, including cable management and workstation readiness.
  • Participate in office moves involving IT setup.

Asset & Inventory Management

  • Support the tracking and organization of IT equipment and storage.
  • Help update ISO documentation, including inventory and asset tracking.
  • Assist in managing hardware repairs, replacements, and equipment lifecycle tasks.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Participate in preparing equipment for new hires, including workstation setup and equipment distribution.
  • Assist in the collection and processing of equipment during offboarding.

Team Collaboration & Documentation

  • Maintain and update IT documentation and policies with supervision.
  • Support the rollout of new tools, applications, or workflows.
  • Collaborate with the broader Global IT team by helping answer basic tickets in FreshService or questions in Slack.

Relationship Building

  • Build positive working relationships with all Monks and teammates, fostering a collaborative, service-oriented environment.

Skills & Qualifications

Experience

  • Previous volunteer work, personal tech projects, or any customer service exposure is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Basic understanding of macOS and Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Office365, or any ticketing system is a plus (training provided).
  • Interest in learning device management tools (e.g., Jamf), security tools (e.g., CrowdStrike), and collaboration platforms (Slack).

Specialized Skills

  • Willingness to learn printer troubleshooting and meeting room hardware setup.
  • Ability to assist with simple networking/WiFi questions once trained.

Language

  • Intermediate English level.
  • Enthusiasm for learning IT terminology and best practices.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and willing to take initiative.
  • Comfortable working independently while representing the Global IT team.
  • Ability to manage time, stay organized, and handle multiple tasks.
  • Problem-solver with curiosity and creativity.
  • Certifications are a plus but not required.
