About the Role
We are seeking a highly meticulous and detail-oriented Proofreader to temporarily join our creative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for checking different types of digital assets, ensuring 100% accuracy, clarity, and consistency across various formats and channels. This role is essential for delivering flawless final assets under strict deadlines.

Responsibilities:
- Proofreading & Quality Assurance (QA): Conduct final, comprehensive proofreading across all creative assets, including web copy, social media posts, email campaigns, presentations, and video scripts.
- Accuracy & Grammar: Scrutinize documents for errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and formatting.
- Style & Consistency: Verify adherence to the client's established brand guidelines, tone of voice, style guides, and specific terminology lists.
- Fact-Checking: Conduct basic fact-checking to ensure all claims, numbers, statistics, and references are accurate and correctly cited (where applicable).
- Version Control: Work closely with Copywriters and Project Managers to manage multiple rounds of revisions and ensure the final approved version is the one released.
- Deadline Management: Prioritize workload effectively to meet tight production schedules and delivery deadlines.
- Team Player: Foster an environment that focuses on knowledge sharing and group participation
About You
The essentials:

- Experience: At least 3 years of professional experience as a Proofreader, Copy Editor, or similar role, preferably within an agency or high-volume creative environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Exceptional mastery of English grammar, syntax, punctuation, and style rules. Ability to discern differences between various types of English (e.g. American English versus Canadian English)
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to spot minute errors and inconsistencies that automated tools often miss.
- Software Skills: Proficiency with Google tools such as Gmail, Docs, and Slides, and collaboration tools (e.g., Slack).
- Process Knowledge: Familiarity with creative workflows and version control processes.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly explain suggested corrections and style decisions.
- Experience working with Tech and Social Platforms industries.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and SEO best practices related to content.
Not a must, but a plus:
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.
