About the Role
Monks are seeking a creative Designer to lead the development of digital ads and assets for various brands. This role requires balancing speed, style, and scale to produce high-quality visual content that resonates across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities:
Creative Strategy & Conceptualisation
- From Pitch to Brief: Ideate and create style proposals to win pitches, then translate high-level creative briefs into thorough design briefs that guide the production process.
- Execution of Art Direction: Translate concepts into style proposals, mockups, and storyboards, providing innovative ideas and best-practice inspiration to elevate the creative output.
Digital & Social Specialisation
- Interactive Storytelling: Specialise in crafting interactive assets and motion graphics that combine aesthetics with functional storytelling for social media and digital channels.
- Cultural Relevance: Apply an understanding of current cultural and platform-specific trends to ensure designs are relevant and engaging.
Collaboration & Quality Control
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with Project Managers, Producers, and QA teams to ensure all designs align with client expectations and brand guidelines.
- Technical Excellence: Ensure pixel-perfect execution and safeguard quality throughout the design process, including supporting the production team during multi-market rollouts.
About You
The essentials:
- 3–5 years of experience as a Designer or Art Director, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in digital design and advertising.
- End-to-end design proficiency: Proven ability to handle all stages of the process—from conceptualization and layout to final file setup and delivery.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop for digital; InDesign and Illustrator for print) and Figma (basic knowledge with a desire to grow).
- Experience with AI image generation and prompting, paired with an enthusiastic, forward-thinking approach to using AI for creative efficiency.
- Strong grasp of design fundamentals (typography, hierarchy, grids) and production nuances like platform limitations, safe zones, and language versioning.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teams and clients, including the confidence to present and justify design decisions.
- A fast, flexible, and resourceful worker who maintains meticulously organized files/layers and can work independently or handle repetitive tasks with focus.
- Ready to jump into various production needs, including creating design libraries, sourcing images, and resizing assets for multi-platform delivery.
Not a must, but a plus:
- Proven experience in creating interactive platform projects and user-centric UI designs.
- Deep understanding of social media dynamics and current cultural trends to create engaging, platform-specific content.
- Proficient in working with dielines and diverse vendor specifications for high-quality print execution.
