About the Role

As a Sr. Copywriter, you'll write clear and persuasive copy for a large e-commerce brand. You'll work within the client's tone of voice, apply feedback with agility, and write and proofread a very high volume of creative assets.

That said, this job is for a writer’s writer, not just an “ideas” writer. A headline writer. A writer who knows the value of editing. A writer who knows that the fifth version of a particular headline was better than the tenth, because they wrote it ten different ways to make sure.

Responsibilities:

  • Volume Writing: Generate a high volume of copy options against a single brief, then edit down to a client-ready set with a clear rationale for what stays.
  • Creative & Copy Development: Ideation and creation, reliably generating innovative and consistent deliverables.
  • Revision Cycles: Turn feedback around quickly across multiple rounds on the same asset, including direction that changes course, without losing quality or momentum.
  • Quality Assurance: Critically evaluate major projects, maintaining creative excellence and alignment with client goals.
  • Specs and Requirements: Write to placement specs, character limits, and mandatories, ensuring copy holds up across formats and sizes.
  • Effective Presentation: Present work to clients alongside Producers, articulating messaging rationale and strategic intent.
  • Client Engagement: Build strong client relationships through active listening and understanding their objectives and feedback.
  • Hands-on Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to complete projects and identify areas for improvement.
  • Adaptability to Deadlines: Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and prioritize accordingly.
  • Global Collaboration: Work effectively across time zones on local and international projects.
  • Content Development: Partner with other creatives to produce content across various formats.

About You

The essentials:

  • Copywriting Experience: 6+ years in copywriting within advertising and marketing. Must showcase the ability to adapt to multiple tones of voice.
  • Output at Pace: Proven track record of producing high volumes of copy on short timelines without quality falling off.
  • Editorial Judgment: Ability to cut your own work down and defend what stays.
  • Resilience Under Pressure: Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with creative leads, designers and copywriters to create brand-aligned messaging.
  • Adaptability: Understand the client's placement specs and tailor copy to format-specific requirements.
  • Professional Presentation: Present work with well-reasoned rationale, especially to senior leaders and clients.
  • Critical Thinker: Evaluate messaging for effectiveness, clarity, and audience alignment.
  • Brand Consistency: Experience managing brand voice and ensuring proper application.
  • Industry Experience: Background in e-commerce, retail, or high-volume production environments preferred.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating copywriting experience across formats, including short-form work.
  • Detail-Oriented: Meticulous focus on spelling, grammar, and consistency.
  • Unprecious: Explores widely rather than settling on one version early, and open to going again.
  • Feedback Receptive: Open to constructive feedback with a readiness to offer new solutions.
  • Self-Starter: Adaptable in quick-paced environments and able to manage your own workflows.
  • Collaborative: Manages fast turnarounds as part of a committed team.
  • Solution-Focused: Client-centric with a strong work ethic and positive approach.
  • Independent and Team Player: Comfortably shifts between independent work and collaboration.\
  • Trend Awareness: Stays informed on emerging creative trends, terms, and pop culture.
  • Commitment to Inclusion: Uphold equity, inclusion, and accessibility in all work aspects.

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Industry Experience: Background in e-commerce, retail, or high-volume production environments preferred.
