About the Role
As an OTT Lead, you’ll architect, build, and evolve cross-platform streaming applications—spanning Web, Mobile, and CTV—while guiding multi-disciplinary teams and engaging directly with clients to translate business goals into scalable OTT solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design and development of OTT apps across Web, iOS, Android, Android TV, tvOS, Roku, Chromecast, and Smart TVs
- Define and optimize video delivery workflows (playback, ABR, DRM), ad insertion (SSAI/CSAI), and player enhancements
- Oversee app store submissions, certification, release cycles, and platform compliance
- Implement EPG, personalization, cross-device synchronization, deep linking, and advanced video features
- Act as technical lead in client discussions; convert business needs into roadmaps and architectures
- Mentor and guide engineers across platforms; drive code quality, reviews, and standards
- Collaborate with product, design, QA, and backend teams to deliver high-quality releases on time
- Integrate analytics, ad tech (Google IMA, Freewheel), and third-party services
- Ensure performance, scalability, accessibility, and seamless playback across devices and networks
- Troubleshoot production issues; drive observability, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvements
- Stay current with Roku SDK, tvOS APIs, Android frameworks, and OTT ecosystem updates
- Promote best practices in OTT architecture, CI/CD, automated testing, security, and privacy
- Other duties as assigned
About You
Qualifications & Skills
- 7+ years of software development experience, including 4+ years focused on OTT/streaming
- Hands-on development in at least two OTT ecosystems (e.g., iOS/tvOS, Android/Android TV, Roku, Web, Smart TVs)
- Strong knowledge of OTT architectures; streaming protocols (HLS, DASH); DRM (Widevine, FairPlay, PlayReady); and ad tech
- Proficiency with RESTful APIs, JSON, and backend integrations
- Experience with app store submissions, certification processes, and lifecycle management
- Proficient with Git, CI/CD workflows, and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
- Nice to have: Fire TV, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS; video analytics (Conviva, Mux, Youbora)
- Knowledge of personalization/recommendation systems, ABR optimization, and low-latency streaming
- Contributions to OTT-related open-source projects or developer communities
