About the Role

As a Business Director, you’ll lead and grow our senior client relationships in Kuwait, working with leading regional and multinational clients across the GCC. In the Middle East, Monks is rapidly expanding its footprint, and we are looking for a commercially driven, client-obsessed leader to serve as a trusted strategic advisor to C-suite and senior marketing leadership. We are looking for someone who is passionate about seeking new opportunities to create impactful work.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary executive point of contact for a portfolio of senior clients in Kuwait and the broader Gulf region.

  • Build and maintain C-suite relationships, acting as a strategic advisor who deeply understands their business objectives and digital maturity.

  • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs), annual planning sessions, and executive presentations.

  • Own revenue targets for your portfolio, with accountability for retention, growth, and profitability.

  • Identify and convert organic growth opportunities across Monks' full service offering, including creative production, media, data, and tech.

  • Oversee responses to pitches, RFPs, and new business opportunities within the region.

  • Negotiate contracts, scopes of work, and commercial terms in collaboration with finance and operations.

  • Translate complex digital marketing challenges into clear strategic recommendations and compelling Monks solutions.

  • Champion the use of Monks' proprietary technology, AI-powered tools, and data capabilities.

  • Lead and motivate cross-functional delivery teams, ensuring high standards of work quality.

  • Mentor and develop junior client services team members while contributing to the culture in Kuwait.

About You

The essentials:

  • 10+ years of experience in digital marketing, advertising, or MarTech, with at least 4 years in a senior client leadership role.

  • Bilingual proficiency with outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic.

  • Commercial Acumen: Proven track record managing and growing large, complex accounts (ideally $1M+ annual revenue) and comfort with P&L and forecasting.

  • Market Expertise: Culturally fluent with a deep appreciation for the nuances of doing business in the Gulf; experience in Kuwait or the broader GCC is strongly preferred.

  • Strategic Depth: Deep knowledge of the digital landscape, including platforms, paid media, social, CRM, and data & analytics.

  • Executive Presence: Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to operate at the board and C-suite level.

  • Leadership: A natural collaborator who can lead cross-functional teams within a complex, matrixed global organisation.

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Background: Experience working within a global agency network, top-tier consultancy, or specialised marketing technology company.

  • AI & Tech Focus: A specific passion for emerging AI-driven tools and their application in the evolving digital landscape.

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: A mindset that actively seeks out opportunity and takes the initiative to pursue it.

  • Cultural Pulse: A passion for staying on the pulse of culture and the ability to provide a strategic POV.

At Monks, we believe in fostering an environment where a diversity of perspectives can thrive. We proactively work to design hiring processes that promote equity and inclusion while mitigating bias.
