The Sr Director of Influencer Marketing is the strategic and operational lead of the Influencer function within the Center of Excellence (COE). This role is responsible for defining the influencer vision, establishing best-in-class frameworks, and ensuring excellence in execution across regional and potential global assignments supported by the COE.

As the head of the Influencer capability within the COE, this leader will oversee end-to-end influencer strategy, partnerships, governance, innovation, capability building, and team leadership. The scope of work may include regional or multi-market initiatives, depending on business needs and client assignments.

The role requires a balance of high-level strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with direct involvement in priority campaigns when necessary. The Senior Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and market stakeholders to deliver measurable business impact through culturally relevant and commercially effective influencer programs.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and evolve the Influencer Marketing strategy within the COE framework.
  • Establish scalable frameworks, governance models, playbooks, and best practices applicable across markets supported by the COE.
  • Lead influencer strategies for regional and multi-market campaigns as assigned.
  • Identify emerging trends, platforms, creators, and technologies to ensure the COE remains at the forefront of the creator economy.
  • Drive innovation in influencer models, partnership structures, and compensation approaches.

Operational Excellence & Execution

  • Oversee end-to-end development and execution of influencer campaigns delivered by the COE.
  • Ensure consistency in quality, compliance, brand safety, and measurement standards across all supported markets.
  • Step into hands-on leadership for priority, complex, or high-visibility campaigns when required.
  • Optimize workflows, tools, and processes to ensure efficiency, scalability, and operational rigor.
  • Establish KPIs, performance frameworks, and reporting standards to measure effectiveness and ROI.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing influencer team within the COE.
  • Build capability frameworks, training programs, and knowledge-sharing systems.
  • Define talent strategy including hiring, onboarding, development, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the team is equipped with the right tools, systems, and operational support.

Agency & Influencer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with influencers, talent managers, and specialized agencies.
  • Oversee agency scopes, performance management, and commercial negotiations.
  • Establish standards for influencer vetting, contracting, compliance, and brand alignment.
  • Negotiate strategic partnerships and long-term collaboration agreements when required.

Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with Creative, Social, Media, Strategy, and Data teams to integrate influencer into full-funnel campaigns.
  • Collaborate with regional or market leads to align influencer programs with business and brand objectives.
  • Present strategic recommendations, roadmaps, and performance results to senior stakeholders.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for influencer marketing within the COE structure.

Commercial & Financial Oversight

  • Manage campaign budgets and ensure financial discipline across COE-delivered initiatives.
    Drive cost efficiencies and commercial effectiveness.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing influencer expertise to pitches and proposals.
    Ensure sustainable and scalable delivery models aligned with COE operational standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in Influencer Marketing, Social Media, or Digital Marketing.
  • Minimum 5+ years in senior leadership or director-level roles.
    Proven experience leading multi-market or regional influencer programs.
    Strong understanding of both brand-building and performance-driven influencer strategies.
  • Experience working within matrixed organizations or Center of Excellence models preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage external partners.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience translating data into actionable insights.
  • Deep knowledge of the creator economy, platform ecosystems, and evolving digital trends.
