About the Role

The Casting Manager will play a pivotal role in resource and talent management across the north american region at .monks. This position is responsible for efficiently allocating talent, time, and budget across multiple regions and projects, ensuring that each project is optimally resourced. The Casting Manager will also foster strategic partnerships with discipline leads and client teams, aligning resource management with both regional market needs and the global business vision.

Responsibilities:

Resource Allocation and Optimization:

  • Distribute resources across projects and regions, ensuring optimal productivity while preventing resource overextension.
  • Collaborate with project/operations managers to ensure that staffing, time, and budget allocations meet project requirements.

Talent Management and Development:

  • Identify, onboard, and develop talent within the organization to ensure a robust and dynamic talent pool.
  • Ensure the right talent is placed on projects that match their skills and career development goals.

Capacity Planning:

  • Forecast future resource needs in line with upcoming projects and business objectives, ensuring project demands are met without delays.
  • Maintain a flexible approach to resource management, adapting to evolving project priorities.

Financial Responsibility:

  • Oversee resource allocation to ensure healthy project margins, and escalate concerns to operations if financial expectations aren’t met.
  • Align casting decisions with financial guidelines and project budgets.

Global and Regional Strategy Alignment:

  • Implement resource management strategies that align with both global business goals and regional needs, ensuring consistency in operations.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to adapt global strategies to local market needs and cultural nuances.

Management of Freelance Onboarding and Offboarding:

  • Oversee the onboarding and offboarding process for freelance talent, including managing paperwork and ensuring compliance with internal systems and processes.
  • Ensure that freelancers are integrated smoothly into projects and have a clear offboarding process to wrap up their contributions.

Conflict Resolution:

  • Address and resolve conflicts related to resource planning, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and team dynamics.

Diversity and Inclusion:

  • Ensure casting decisions align with the organization's diversity and inclusion goals, supporting a creative team that reflects a broad and inclusive audience.

Talent Database Management:

  • Maintain and update the talent database, ensuring accurate records of talent availability, roles, and performance.
  • Source and manage hold schedule with temp employees to ensure freelance pipelines are healthy.

Collaboration with Crossfunctional Teams:

  • Partner closely with directors, producers, and discipline leads to ensure casting decisions align with creative objectives and project requirements.

Contract Negotiation and Management:

  • Handle contract agreements with talent and agencies, securing favorable terms that align with budget constraints while fostering strong talent relationships.

Talent Relations and Retention:

  • Foster positive relationships with talent and agencies, promoting retention and building a reliable talent network for future projects.

About You

The essentials:

  • Proven experience in resource management, casting, or project management within a creative or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of both regional and global talent management.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in resource management software and tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and regions, fostering a cohesive creative environment.

Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
