About the Role

Monks is hiring for a Senior Designer.

Your primary responsibility will be producing fit-for-platform, on-brand, and based on best practices omnichannel content for the world’s most renowned brands. 

Responsibilities:

  • They will specialize in designing, adapting and localizing static visuals and storyboards for ATL and BTL (ecomm and in-store) advertising and will demonstrate impeccable production skills from realistic task estimations and debriefings to delivering assets on time, on brief and according to the technical specifications.
  • They will collaborate with Project Managers and Producers to drive clarity, consistency and quality through all stages of the production process.
  • They will work as part of a global team of designers, illustrators, animators and art directors that produces world-class work.
  • The job is about harmonizing style, craft intelligence, speed and scale to meet the evolving needs of brands for innovative and eye-catching content. 
  • Pixel perfection and error-free ad content are important. Senior Designer will safeguard quality at all times and work together with Visual QAs in order to achieve that.
  • Senior Designer will work with Designers in their local and global teams to ensure proper tasks distribution, realistic and balanced workload, while driving excellence through training, knowledge transfer and on-the-job coaching.
  • Embracing a culture of continuous improvement, Senior Designer will propose amendments to existing processes to remove waste, duplication of effort, delays and ensure transparency.  

 Oversight

  • Provides direction, governance and support for the delivery of best practices in the local design team and works together with Global Design Lead to maintain consistency of craft across global design teams and recommends improvements and process optimization.
  • Provides training support to the local design team to accelerate hub maturity and ensure equal and balanced workload. Senior Designer leans into the Global Design Lead to distribute the overflow of tasks to other hubs and teams and flags when the influx of tasks is insufficient to keep the team occupied.
  • Supports the local design team to ensure all deliverables are carried out accurately, according to brand style guide, briefing, Media.Monks design standards as well as effectively, efficiently and on budget, for both the company and the client.
  • Provides leadership where needed and follows through on strategy and vision for the team.
  • Be a key player within the Media.Monks Adapt design community and execute shared goals and continually help to set plans to improve Adapt’s ways of working.

Tooling & tech

  • Organise design process using Media.Monks workflow tooling solutions and fit-for-purpose design software. Stay abreast of new developments in the industry and explore new software solutions or design workflows if applicable.

Delivery Excellence

  • Maintains and optimises the efficient production process to achieve error-free and timely deliveries. 
  • Being client-facing provides recommendations on creative approach as it concerns design execution and best practices. 
  • Consults and trains designers to adhere by the process, best practices, time management, debriefing and self-QA. 
  • Consults PMs and Producers about realistic timelines, bottlenecks in the process, inconsistencies in briefs etc. Escalates to a Global Design Lead and Global Operations Manager in case of bottlenecks in the process, risks connected to complexity or unclarity of briefs or lack of capacity to deliver on time and according to Media.Monks standards.  

People

  • Identifies training needs for the local design team. Leads workshops, knowledge-transfer sessions and performs coaching when needed. 
  • Contributes to the global Design Community and collaborates with the Global design Lead on new initiatives or training.


About You

The Essentials:

  • You have 5+ years of working experience in similar or advertising industry
  • You have solid Photoshop and Illustrator skills. 
  • You know how to keep your files, layers and folders super-organized, even if you’re a creative mess outside of Photoshop.
  • You can take charge of small and bigger tasks independently and provide supervision to other designers where needed.
  • You can contribute to different stages of the production process, from setting styles and layouts to cutting formats and language versioning.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem solving, and coping with rapid change is required.
  • You’re always on the lookout for process efficiencies.
  • You can handle repetitive tasks and stay focused.
  • You’re well-versed in English and production tricks.
  • You’re a clear communicator and are happy to work with designers from all over the world.

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Experience in Sketch & Figma
