We are looking for a skilled Tableau Engineer to join our team. This role is focused on working through a backlog of analytics requests, transforming raw data into actionable insights, and optimizing our existing dashboards.

You will be a key analytics partner for business stakeholders, responsible for the full development cycle. This includes gathering requirements, building data models, developing sophisticated dashboards, and presenting your findings to leadership. This position is perfect for a technical developer who is comfortable solving data challenges and working closely with business units.

What You'll Do

  • End-to-End Development: Design, develop, and deploy new, interactive dashboards to meet business requests.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with key business stakeholders to understand their challenges, gather requirements, and define metrics.
  • Data Modeling & ETL: Own the data pipeline for your analytics. Write advanced SQL to query data, and use Tableau Prep to build and maintain data models and cleanup flows.
  • Advanced Dashboarding: Create scalable visualizations using complex Tableau calculations, including LOD expressions, table calculations, and parameters.
  • Optimization: Analyze, tune, and optimize existing dashboards to improve performance, accuracy, and user experience.
  • Presentation: Present your analysis, dashboards, and recommendations to business stakeholders and leadership for feedback.
  • Quality & Governance: Ensure all solutions are clean, professional, and intuitive. You will manage your work in a continuous-flow Kanban-style environment and follow all data governance standards.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in business intelligence, data analytics, and dashboard development.
  • Advanced SQL: Strong proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries, using CTEs, window functions, and subqueries.
  • Strong Tableau Desktop Skills: Deep experience with Tableau, with a portfolio demonstrating complex calculations (LODs, etc.), parameters, and sets.
  • Tableau Prep: Demonstrable, hands-on experience using Tableau Prep Builder for data cleaning, transformation, and flow management.
  • Data Modeling: Strong experience in data modeling, with an understanding of star schemas and the ability to build data models optimized for Tableau.
  • Data Versatility: Proven ability to connect to and work with a variety of data sources, including cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.), relational databases, and flat files.
  • Platform: Experience working within the Tableau Cloud environment.
  • Stakeholder & Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders, translate business needs into technical requirements, and present data to non-technical audiences.
  • Design Sensibility: A strong eye for visual design and a commitment to building dashboards that are clean, professional, and intuitive.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Scripting: Familiarity with a scripting language, such as Python or R.
  • Tableau API: Experience using the Tableau REST API for simple automation tasks.
  • Embedding: Basic experience with embedding Tableau dashboards into other applications.
  • Adaptability: Experience with other BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Looker), demonstrating an ability to learn and adapt to new tools.
