THE COMPANY

S4 Capital is the tech-led, new-age advertising and marketing services company established in 2018 and listed on the London Stock Exchange. Operating under its single global brand, Media.Monks, the organization was built to disrupt the traditional holding company model by integrating data, content, and digital media into one seamless workflow.

At its core, Media.Monks is designed to help brands navigate the "always-on" digital world through a philosophy of "unitary structure"—meaning no silos, no borders, and a relentless focus on speed, quality, and value.

Purpose of the role:

We are looking for an Intercompany Accountant to join us, operating within the Record to Report (R2R) team. Based in Kuala Lumpur, this role will take full ownership of the end-to-end intercompany accounting processes for entities across the APAC and EMEA regions. Working on a single instance of NetSuite OneWorld, you will ensure global intercompany positions are fully reconciled, balanced, and compliant, minimizing FX exposure and financial risk for the Group.

The successful candidate will report to the local R2R Lead and will partner closely with local Controllership teams and fellow Intercompany teams across other global Finance sites to ensure global alignment.

  1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Working on a single instance of the NetSuite OneWorld ERP, you will ensure the timely, accurate completion of all intercompany transactions, reporting, and reconciliations in line with Group month-end deadlines.

Core Intercompany Execution

  • Journal Management: Prepare and post both sides of intercompany journal entries, ensuring adequate business justifications and appropriate workflow approvals have occurred prior to posting.
  • Mismatch Resolution: Actively chase, investigate, and clear intercompany mismatches on a continuous basis, preventing aged imbalances from rolling over into subsequent periods.
  • Global Reconciliation Collaboration: Partner closely with Intercompany and R2R teams in other global Finance sites (e.g., Bogota) to ensure global intercompany positions perfectly reconcile and net to zero.
  • NetSuite Management: Leverage NetSuite OneWorld’s automated intercompany management features to run matrix matching, netting processes, and automated eliminations.

Best-Practice Control & Governance

  • Intercompany Netting & Settlement: Coordinate and execute the monthly intercompany cash netting and settlement cycle to optimise liquidity and reduce cross-border transaction fees.
  • FX & Revaluation Management: Monitor and review foreign exchange (FX) impacts on multi-currency intercompany loans and trade balances, ensuring correct revaluation at month-end.
  • Dispute Management: Establish and maintain a clear dispute-resolution workflow for cross-border/intercompany charges, acting as the primary mediator between conflicting entities.
  • Balance Sheet Ownership: Take full ownership of intercompany receivable, payable, and loan balance sheet accounts, preparing robust monthly Balance Sheet Specifications and audit-ready documentation.
  • Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the intercompany cross-charging process and recommend system modifications or policy changes to drive automation.

SCOPE AND ACCOUNTABILITY

Process scope: All intercompany P&L (cross-charges, management fees) and Balance Sheet accounts (Intercompany AP/AR, Intercompany Loans, and Automated Elimination accounts) for the entities in scope.

Decision-making: Will follow standardised processes but will be required to use accounting judgement to evaluate the validity of cross-border transactions and ensure entries comply with Group transfer pricing policies and audit standards.

Autonomy: Will work independently on daily reconciliations and netting cycles under the general direction of the R2R Lead. Expected to proactively initiate contact with counterparty teams globally to resolve imbalances.

Impact: Individual output / global process stability / SLA ownership / minimization of consolidated balance sheet mismatches.

STAKEHOLDER INTERACTION

  • Collaborate daily with Intercompany and R2R counterparts across other global Finance sites.
  • Partner closely with regional Controllership teams, Group Treasury (for netting/settlements), and Tax teams (for transfer pricing alignment).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors regarding intercompany balances and elimination integrity.

PROBLEM SOLVING & COMPLEXITY

  • Type of problems handled: Exception-based and Systemic.
  • Examples: Resolving asymmetrical multi-currency transaction discrepancies caused by FX rate fluctuations, untangling historic unapproved cross-charges, and addressing system-matching breaks within NetSuite OneWorld.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Fully or part-qualified professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly preferred.

Experience: 2+ years of dedicated corporate accounting experience, specifically focusing on Intercompany processing within a Shared Services (FSS) or multi-entity global environment.

NetSuite Expertise: Hands-on experience with NetSuite OneWorld is highly preferred, specifically utilizing Intercompany Management, automated eliminations, and multi-currency functions.

Technical Skills: Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Sumifs) for heavy data manipulation and validation between disparate sub-ledgers.

Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of multi-currency environments, FX revaluations, CTA (Cumulative Translation Adjustment), and basic familiarity with transfer pricing concepts.

Communication: Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills; must possess the confidence and diplomacy required to remotely chase and resolve disputes with finance teams globally.
